TCU & Gearbox Tuning in Abu Dhabi
Overview
An ECU tune changes how much power the engine makes. A TCU tune changes how that power actually reaches the road — shift speed, shift firmness, torque converter lockup behavior, and launch control response. On modern automatic and dual-clutch transmissions, gearbox calibration is what makes an engine tune feel finished rather than just louder.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
What's included with tcu & gearbox tuning.
- Faster, firmer shift mapping matched to the ECU calibration
- Launch control and rev-matching behavior tuned to the platform
- Torque converter lockup and shift-point recalibration
- Datalogged verification of shift quality under load
- Specified alongside ECU tuning for a matched power delivery curve
OUR PROCESS
How we approach it.
Review
We check the current transmission calibration and confirm it against the ECU file it needs to work with.
Calibrate
Shift speed, shift firmness, and lockup behavior are remapped to match the engine's new power delivery.
Verify
A road test under load confirms shift quality is firm and consistent, not just quick in isolation.
FAQ
Questions about tcu & gearbox tuning.
Can TCU tuning be done without an ECU tune?+
Yes, but the two are usually specified together — a TCU tune is calibrated against a specific power delivery curve, so it performs best when matched to the current ECU file.
Will faster shifts wear out the gearbox sooner?+
Shift mapping is tuned within the transmission's mechanical limits, not beyond them. We don't release a calibration that trades long-term reliability for a marginally quicker shift.
Does this work on both automatic and dual-clutch gearboxes?+
Yes, on platforms where the transmission control unit supports recalibration. We'll confirm compatibility for your specific car before booking.
